I have no pain….that must mean I have no problems…right?
At Balhannah Dental Practice, our focus is on prevention.
Dental issues don’t always cause any pain or other symptoms, and many people in the local community may be unaware of urgent dental issues in their mouth.
Ideally, in order to maintain your dental health and prevent larger more costly procedures, you should visit the dentist every six months for a check-up. But please don’t worry if it’s been longer than this. At Balhannah Dental Practice we offer a non-judgmental service, and welcome all patients, even those who may not have been to the dentist for years.
During your check-up our highly trained team will closely examine not just your teeth, but your gums and the rest of your mouth too. We are highly skilled in spotting problems before they become serious, and able to offer individual advice on maintaining your oral health. We pride ourselves on listening to our patients, and will always ask about whether you have had any recent problems that we can help with. We also offer dietary advice, advice on smoking and drinking, and advice on how to maintain your dental health at home.
Why do I need a dentist clean? I brush everyday!
Over time, dental plaque and tartar can build up on your teeth. Tartar can be hard or impossible to remove at home, and if not kept in check can lead to more serious problems such as cavities and gingivitis. These diseases are preventable through good oral hygiene procedures (tooth brushing and flossing) .
Our dentist spends a lot of time educating patients on the latest oral hygiene techniques.
Our skilled team will ensure that all tartar is removed as comfortably as possible using the latest cleaning instruments.
